Patna : West Indies were 30/2 in their second innings at stumps on the third day of the second and final test against New Zealand at Seddon Park, Hamilton, New Zeland, on December 11, 2017, with stand in captain Kraigg Brathwaite batting on 13 and Shai Hope on one not out. West Indies were set a target of  444 to win the second test to equal to the two match test series 1-1, which looks unlikely.

Earlier, New Zealand had declared their second innings at 291/8 with former captain Ross Taylor scoring an unbeaten 107, his 17th ton in test cricket eaualling the record of Capain Kane Williamson and Martin Crowe.

West Indies resumed at their overnight score of 215/8 and were all out for 221 before lunch on the third day.
