Patna : JD(U) National President and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar while addressing party workers’ rally at Patna Gandhi Maidan on March 1, 2020, said that the NDA was united in the state and would win over 200 out of 243 seats in the next state Assembly Elections to be in October-November this year.

Nitish said that the Bihar Assembly has passed a unanimous resolution against the NRC while the CAA would be dealt with patiently and controversies would be avoided until the matter was before the court. The NPR would be conducted as per the 2010 format, he told the party workers.

Nitish also lashed out at the RJD- Congress alliance over the 1989 Bhagalpur Riots and said that it was only after his government came to power in 2005 that those responsible for the riot were brought to book and the victims got justice. The gathering at the rally was, however, not that big.

The JD(U) Workers’ rally coincided with Nitish Kumar’s birthday. Wishing CM Nitish Kumar on his birthday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised him as a popular leader who has risen from the grassroots.  Greetings to Bihar’s Chief Minister and my friend Nitish Kumar Ji, Modi tweeted. Nitish turned 69 on March 1, 2020.
