Patna : With counting trend available for all the 542 parliamentary constituencies (PCs), the NDA was leading in 333 PCs, UPA in 99 PCs, and others in 110 PCs at 11.52 am indicating the Modi wave was sweeping across major parts the country. The BJP alone in 285 PCs heading towards majority on its own as in 2014 LS polls. The NDA has made huge gain in West Bengal and Odisha.

PM Narendra Modi was leading by one lakh votes over his nearest Congress rival in Varanasi while Congress President Rahul Gnadhi was trailing by 2,000 in Amethi PC though he was leading by a huge margin in Wayanad in Kearal. The NDA was leading in 54 out of 80 PCs in UP, 40 out of 48 PCs in Maharashtra, 15 out of 42 PCs in West Bengal, and in 8 out of 21 PCs in Odisha.
