Patna : The National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken up the alleged sexual exploitation of a minor girl in which an automobile dealer Nikhil Priyadarshi and Bihar Congress Vice President Brajesh Pandey and others have been made accused. The girl happens to be daughter of a senior Congress leader and former minister. An FIR has been registered with SC/ST police station, Patna, in this connection.

DG, Police Headquarters, Bihar, Sunil Kumar, on February 22 said that allegations against Priyadarshi prima facie appear true while charges against Pandey were being investigated. He said police were not under any pressure.  DG Sunil Kumar said that CID had written to Union Home Ministry for issuance of a red corner notice against main accused Priyadarshi,  son of a retired IPS officer.

Pandey, who had unsuccessfully contested 2015 assembly polls from a constituency in East Champaran district, resigned from his post on February 21. Priyadarshi is absconding after a local court recently rejected his anticipatory bail petition.
NCW member Sushma Sahu said the Commission has taken up the case and talked to the victim and collected video footage provided by her on her ordeal. The Commission has sought report from Director General of Police, Bihar,  in this regard.
