here on January 24. The NDA workers burnt effigies of Yadav and demanded an aplogy from  him. In New Delhi, protests against  Yadav reached the streets where his effigies were burnt by women activists and workers of NDA.

Speaking at the JD(U) sponsored programme on birth anniversary of Socialist leader Karpoori Thakur here on January 24, Sharad nYadav had said, “Honour of vote was more important than the honour of a daughter. That is the reason honour of vote is more important than the honour of the daughter.”
Deputy chief minister Tejeshwai Yadav, son of RJD president Lalu Prasad, said, “This is Sharad Yadav’s personal view.” Two women ministers-Anita  Devi and Manju Verma disagreed with Sharad’s remarks and

At the same function, Sharad had commented, ” Popularity of Congress is at lowest ebb worse than following the emergency.”
