Naxalite carrying Rs 50,000 reward on head arrested in Bhojpur

Ara: Bhojpur police, on a tip off, conducted raid at Agiaon Bazaar area under Agiaw Bazaar police station in Bhojpur district on Monday and arrested a hardcore Maoist Chhedi Paswan, who carried a reward of Rs 50,000 on his head. He was wanted in connection with murder of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Millu Chaudhary of Buxar district and had altogether two dozen criminal cases including naxal violence lodged against him. He is a resident of Agiaon Bazaar under Agiaon Bazaar police station under Piro  sub-division.

Police sources said that the police had arrested two naxals Raj Kumar Ram and Brajesh Ram owing allegiance to the CPI(Maoist) from Garhani village under naxal infested Charpokhari police station on May 20, 2016, with firearms. Police recovered looted rife and other firearms from Karnaul Chandi on their revelation. The arrested naxals also revealed that they along with Chhedi Paswan and other had killed Millu Chaudhary of Baruha village under Bagel Goal police station and Ramashrya Yadav of Bikram English village under Sikraul police station under Dumrao Sub-Division in Buxar district on April 29, 2016.  They are contract killers. Millu Chaudhary, former District Board member and BSP leader, was killed on April 29, 2016, when he was going to attend a marriage. He had also unsuccessfully contested assembly election in 2015 on BSP ticket.

Sources also said that police had arrested seven naxals including Jitednra Tiger, Sonadhari Yadav and Binay in connection with laying of landmines under a bridge at Kathrai village under Charpokhari police station and recovered three cylinder bombs and landmines under the bridge at Kathrai village on July 2, 2015, and defused them. Chhedi Paswan was also named in this but the police could not arrest him at that time. Chhedi Paswan also involved in attacking the then Bhojpur SP’s vehicle at Gatari bridge in Piro in 2002..
