Aurangabad: The tri-colour was on Monday unfurled upside down by the officials of the Building Construction Department (BCD) at Aurangabad. It remained upside down for over an hour with officials remaining unaware of it.
Te office of the Building Construction Department is located close to Collectorate where senior officials including Aurangabad DM Kawal Tanuj and SP Babu Ram were participating at the Independence Day function. Some of the journalists apprised the officials of it and then only the flag was lowered and hoisted in a proper manner.
Though Executive Engineer, Building Construction Department, Awadh Kishore admitted that he had himself unfurled the national flag, he, however, said that he was not aware how this mistake took place.As the people came to know about the incident, they came down heavily on the officials of the department concerned over this serious error. Some of them demanded stern action against the officials concerned for the mistake.
Aurangabad DM Kawal Tanuj said that he has slapped show-cause notices on the officials of the department concerned, asking them to explain their position, after he came to know about the incident. He said that such mistakes can’t be tolerated at any cost.
