Narkatiaganj- Balathar road blocked to protest brutal murder

Bettiah : Traffic on Narkatiaganj- Balathar road remained paralysed for several hours with the locals protesting the brutal murder of Manoj Patel, 30, son of  Rameshwar Patel of village Katagharawa under Shikarpur police station in West Champaran on March 3, 2018.

The protesters were shouting anti- police slogans and only after arrival of SDPO, Narkatiaganj, Aman Kumar, Police Inspector S B Thakur and others, traffic was  restored on the road. They pacified the protesters and assured them of immediate arrest of the culprits and adequate compensation to the next of kin  of the deceased.

Sources said that someone called the deceased in the dead of night on his mobile. The deceased left his house but did not return till the March 3, 2018,  morning. Some people, who had gone to field to attend their call of nature, saw  body lying on the wheat field in a pool of blood and informed police about it. Police sent the body for autoplay.

SHO, Shikarpur police station, said that father of the deceased Rameshwar Patel has lodged an FIR with the police station. But, police are yet to arrest any accused.
