Patna : With Roger Federer, 36, Switzerland, failing to defend his Indian Wells and Miami Open ATP Masters 1000 titles, World Number 2 Rafael Nadal, 31, Spain, has returned to Number 1 position in the ATP rankings released on April 2, 2018, with 8,770 points. Federer has slipped to Number 2 position with 8,670 points. Nadal had not played Indian Wells and Miami Open Masters events.

Federer had lost in the finals of Indian Wells ATP Masters to Juan Martin del Porto, 29, Argentiona, and in the second round of Miami Open to World Number 175 Thanasi Kokkinakis.

Marin Cilic, 29, Croatia, has retained his Number 3 rankings with 4,985 points while Alexander Zverev, 20, Germany, has jumped one placed to be ranked Number 4 with 4,925 points. Grigor Dimitrov, 26, Bulgaria, has slipped one position to be ranked Number 5 with 4,635 points.

Juan Martin del Porto retains his number 6th position with 4,470 points while Dominic Thiem, 24, Austria, is Number 7 with 3,665 points. Kevin Anderson, 31, South Africa is Number 8th with 3,390 points.

John Isner, 32, USA, has moved to Number 9 position in the latest ATP ranking after winnings the Miami Open singles title on April 1, 2018, with 3,125 points while David Goffin, 27, Belgium, has slipped one ladder to be ranked 10th with 3,110 points. Lucas Pouille, 24, France, has also slipped one place and is ranked 11th with 2,410 points while Pablo Carreno Busta, 26, Spain, has jumped seven places to be ranked 12th in the ATP ranking with 2,395 points.  Novak Djokovic, 30, Serbia, is 13th with 2,310 points.

Yuki Bhambri, 25, India, has jumped two places to be ranked 105th with 571 points while Ramkumar Ramnatahan, 23, India, has jumped 4 places to be ranked 132nd with 421 points. Sumit Nagal, 20, India, has jumped 5 places to be ranked 213th with 260 points. Thanasi Kokkinakis has jumped 26 places to be ranked 149 in the ATP rankings.
