Nadal enters quarterfinals of AO 2018

Patna : World Number 1 Rafael Nadal, 31, Spain, entered the quarterfinals of Australian Open (AO) 2018 defeating Diego Schwartzman, 25, Argentina, in a tough four set contest 6-3, 6-7, 6-3, 6-3 in the fourth round at Melbourne.

It was the first time that Schwartzman, ranked 26 in the ATP rankings, had taken a set off Nadal in his career. He broke Nadal thrice to win the second set to take the match to fourth set. Nadal now leads Schwartzman 4-0 head to head. Nadal had lost in the final to Roger Federer, 36, Switzerland, in AO 2017.
