Gaighat CO Nishikant arrested in drunken state at Muzaffarpur

Muzaffarpur : A joint team of Excise & Prohibition Department and Police arrested the Circle Officer (CO), Gaighat, in Muzaffarpur district, Nishikant, from his Alkapuri residence in Muzaffarpur town around midnight on January 20, 2018, allegedly in an inebriated state. A bottle of foreign liquor was also seized from CO Nishikant’s residence.

Excise Department, Muzaffarpur, had received information that Gaighat CO Nishikant was boozing on January 20 night. Senior officers were immediately informed about it and soon a team led by Excise Superintendent, Muzaffarpur, Deenbandhu, was contituted to conduct raid at his residence. The team, however, faced difficulty in entering Nishikant’s residence. The team finally entered his residence around 10 pm and carried out the Breath Analyser test on him and it was found positive after which he was arrested. A large number of locals gathered outside the CO’s residence.

Excise Superintendent Deenbandhi while confirming the arrest of CO Nishikant said that two more persons were arrested in Gaighat area. He said that the Gaighat CO was arrested around 12 pm on January 20, 2018,  night.
