N K Sinha appointed Secetary, Information & Broadcasting

New Delhi : The Appointment Committee of Cabinet on June 21, 2017, approved the appointment of N K Sinha, Secretary, Ministry of Culture, as Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, in the vacancy caused due to appointment of  Ajay Mittal, lAS (HP 82) as Secretary, Department of Personnel & Training. N K Sinha is a 1980 batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre.

The Appointment Committee also approved the appointment of Rajiv Gauba, a 1982 batch IAS officer of Jharkkhand cadre and Secretary, Ministry of Urban Development, as Officer on Special Duty in the Ministry of Home Affairs. He will take over as Home Secretary on completion of tenure of the present incumbent Rajiv Mehrishi on August 30, 2017, according to a PIB release.

The Appointment Committee also approved appointment of Deepak Kumar, lAS (BH 84), Director General, ESIC, as Chairman, National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), to fill up the vacancy caused due to appointment of the present incumbent Yudhvir Singh Malik, lAS (HY 83) as Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways.

The committee has also approved appointment of Ravi Kant, lAS (BH 84), Additional Secretary, Department of Defence, as Secretary, Ministry of Shipping, in the vacancy caused due to repatriation of Rajive Kumar, lAS (UP 81), to his cadre.
