Muzaffarpur : Mystery shrouds disappearance of a top businessman of Muzaffarpur Anil Motani, 50. His family members lodged a case with Sikkandarpur police outpost, Muzaffarpur, on February 16, 2017, night suspecting Anil Motani was kidnapped on February 15.

Anil Motani is a fertiliser dealer and supplies fertiliser to at least ten districts. He had gone out from his house on morning walk but did not return home after that. SSP Muzaffarpur Vivek Kumar and Town DSP Anand Ahish visited Motani’s house on February 16 night itself and gathered information from his family members. Police started probe into Motani’s disappearance the same night. Police said that Motani disappeared in mysterious  circumstances on February 15.

Motani’s alleged kidndpping has caused resentment among the locals and police were deployed at different  places in the town on February 16 night. SSP, Muzaffarpur, Vivek Kumar has constituted two teams to locate Motani while Zonal IG, Sunil Kumar, too has set up a special team for the purpose.

It may be recalled here that Anil Motani’s father Murli Manohar Motani was shot at and injured by criminals in 1996 when he refused to pay them `rangdari’ (extortion amount). Muzaffarpur Chamber of Commerce and Industries has  threatened to resort to agitation if Anil Motani is not recovered within 24 hours.
