Muzaffarpur : Muzaffarpur would be made a clean city under `Swachh Bharat Mission'and `Namami Gange’ programmes. Muzaffarpur town has been selected for the cleanliness drive under a pilot project. Muzaffarpur Municipal Corporation (MMC) has reached an agreement with Centre For Science and Environment and ITC for solid waste management, according to City Commissioner Rajiv Ranjan Prasad.

Prasad said that to keep the people healthy, the town has to remain clean. Prasad said that one lakh dustbins would be placed at different places in the town by January 15, 2017. He said the garbage would be dumped at a particular place. The dry garbage would be recycled while the wet garbage would be used for making fertiliser. Prasad said.
