Muzaffarpur : DM, Muzaffarpur, Dharmendra Singh, on April 17, 2017, directed all the Block Development Officers (BDOs) and police officials in the district to launch a drive to create awareness about Japanese Encephalitis (JE) which mostly hits children but villagers often take it as black magic.
The DM said that the children having high fever and convulsions should immediately be rushed to Sri Krishna Medical College Hospital (SKMCH), Muzaffarpur. The DM’s directive follows death of a child at SKMCH due to JE recently. Civil Surgeon Dr Lalita Singh has stressed on review of JE on weekly basis at block level. There are 16 blocks in the district. Posters and banners regarding measures to avoid JE would be pasted at different places in all the blocks.
