Muzaffarpur : Taking a serious view of non-appearance of former Siwan RJD MP Mohammad Shahbuddin to stand trial in a case pertaining to allegedly using an impersonator at undergraduate law examination conducted by B R B A university, Muzaffarpur, in 2005, Sub-divisional Judicial Magistrate, Muzaffarpur, Anupam Kumari , on Friday asked for a show cause from Jail superintendent of Siwan through IG ( Prisons) . She has asked the jail superintendent of Siwan to submit a detail report about non-compliance of the court orders regularly.
Expressing her annoyance over repeated absence of Shahabuddin, the court observed,” It is a very serious
matter and it is hight of negligence that the accused has not been produced before the court during last 11 years of hearing.” The court has fixed June 9 in this case for next hearing in this court.
According to prosecutor Ashok Kumar, a case was lodged on October 1 ,2005, with Kaji Mohammadpur police station in Muzaffarpur district against Shahabuddin , a law examinee, Jayant Kumar, the then principal of S K J Law college, ,Muzaffarpur, and Mohammad Tauhid Alam ,the then Principal of RDS college, and Examination Controller and superintendent of SKJ Law college, Muzaffarpur. It was alleged that Shahabuddin did not appear at law examination in person and instead used a person to appear at the exam in his name and roll number. The police,after investigation, arrested Jayant Kumar, the then principal of SK J Law college, and Mohammad Tauhid Alam,
,Examination superintendent, on November 29 , 2006 and remanded them to jail as the allegation were found true in police investigation . Later on, both the principals got bail from the court but the main accused Mohammad Shahabudding did not turn up before the court.
