Bettiah : Congress MLA from Narkatiyaganj constituency in West Champaran district Vinay Verma on Saturday surrendered before the court of Bettiah CJM Mritunjay Kumar Singh and was given bail in a case under amended Excise and prohibition Act lodged against him by the police at Patna.
The District and sessions judge hads already granted him anticipatory bail in this case but he was directed by
the court to appear in person before the CJM court to get bail. It may be recalled that the Congress MLA was
caught in sting operation made by some persons in which he was seen saying that he can offer wine to his friends and this video had gone viral on social media. Congress is a partner in the Mahagathbandhan government in Bihar so the opposition BJP demanded action against Verma and the police had lodged a case against him.
