Lakhisarai: As the First additional district and sessions judge (ADJ-1), Lakhisarai, Anil Kumar pronounced his verdict on the point of guilt under various sections of the IPC in a case of sensational murder, one of the three accused who were convicted on Monday, jumped the police dragnet and escaped before being sent to jail. The quantum of punishment would be pronounced on July 28. As a procedure, the accused are to the court on date and have to put their signatures before leaving the court room. Under this procedure,Ranjeet Kumar, a resident of village Balgudar under Halsi police station in Lakhisarai district, managed to escape from the courtroom while the jail escort police party appeared to be mere onlooker. Police have lodged an FIR against Ranjeet Kumar for escaping from court room after his production before the court.
