World No 1 Momota beat World No 17 Kanta Tsuneyama, Japan, 21-11, 21-8 in 36 minutes in the quarter-finals at Olympic Sports Center Gynasium, Changzhou, China, on September 20, 2019. World No 5 Chen Long beat World No 11 NG Ka Long Angus, Hong Kong, 21-13, 21-13 in 45 minutes in QFs.

World No 4 Tai Tzu Ying, Taiwan, and World No 2 Chen Yu Fei, China, have also reached women’s singles SFs of China Open.
