Patna : Reigning World Champion and World No 4 in Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings Kento Momota, 24, Japan, lifted men’s singles at Japan Open 2018 BWF World Tour Super 750 tournament at Tokyo on September 16, 2018.

Momota, the third seed, beat World No 26 Khosit Phetpradab, 24, Thailand, 21-14, 21-11 in the final in 48 minute. Momota had won Bronze Medal at 2018 Asian Games at Jakarta, Indonesia. Momota now has 3-0 head to head record against Phetpradab. The tournament is being held since 1982
