Patna : World No 1 Kento Momota, 24, Japan, and World No 9 Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, 22, Indonesia, will clash in the final of Singapore open 2019, an HSBC BSF World Tour Super 500 category tournament, at Singapore Indoor Stadium, Singapore, on April 14, 2019.

Top seed Momota, the reigning World Champion, beat World No 3 and 3rd seed Viktor Axelsen, Denmark, 21-15, 21-18 in 46 minutes in the semi-finals on April 13, 2019. Momota won 42 rallies in the match to 33 by Ginting. He also won 9 consecutive points in the match to 6 by Axelsen, who had recently won India Open 2019. Momota had also defeated Axelsen in the final of All England Open Badmintion Championships on March 10, 2019. Momota now leads Axelsen 12-2 head to head.

Ginting, the 7th seed, beat World No 4 and 2nd seed Chou Tien Chen, Taiwan, in a three-game thriller 21-17, 18-21, 21-14 in 79 minutes in the semi-finals. Ginting won 60 rallies in the match to 52 by Chen. Ginting now leads Chen 5-4 head to head.
