KXIP score 173/4 against RCB in 28th match of IPL-12

Patna : Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) scored 173/4 against Royal Challengers Bangalore(RCB) in the 28th match of IPL-12 at Punjab Cricket Association I S Bindra Stadium, Mohali, with opener Chris Gayle scoring an unbeaten 99 in 64 balls with 10 fours and 5 sixes. Gayle required a six on the last ball of the 20th over bowled by Mohd Siraj to complete his century but could hit only a four. Mandeep Singh remained unbeaten on 18. Gayle added 60 runs in 37 balls with Mandeep for the 5th wicket. RCB won the toss and opted to bowl.

Batting first, KXIP made a good start with openers Chris Gayle and Lokesh Rahul adding 66 runs for the first wicket in 6.2 overs. Rahul fell to spinner Yuzvendra Chahal for 18. Mayank Agarwal also fell to Chahal for 15. Sarfaraz Khan got out to Mohd Siraj for 15.

For RCB, Yuzvendra Chahal took 2/33 in 4 overs while Moeen Ali took 1/19 in 4 overs. Siraj took 1/54 in 4 overs. Nawdeep Saini bowled well but failed to take any wicket.
