Patna : World No 7 and reigning Asian Games Champion Jonatan Christie, 21, Indonesia, beat World No 27 Jan O Jorgensen, 31, Denmark, in straight games in the semi-finals to reach the final of Daihatsu Yonex Japan Open, Tokyo, Japan, on July 27, 2019. He will clash with World No 1 and top seed Kento Momota, Japan, in the final on July 28, 2019. Momota defeated World No 23 B Sai Praneeth, India, in the semi-finals.

Sixth seed Jonatan Christie beat Jorgensen 21-14, 21-14 in 45 minutes in the semi-finals. He won 42 rallies in the match to 28 by Jorgensen, the Bronze Medallist at 2015 World Championships at Jakarta, Indonesia. The two players are now locked 2-2 Head to Head.
