Patna : World No 19 B Sai Praneeth, 27, India, lost to defending champion and top seed Kento Momota, 24, Japan, in the men’s singles semi-finals of BWF World , on Championships at Basel, Switzerland, on August 24, 2019.
World No 1 Momota beat Praneeth 21-13, 21-8 in 42 minutes in the semi-finals. Momota won 42 rallies in the match to 21 by the Indian. He won 8 consecutive points in the match to 2 by Praneeth, who seetled for Bronze Medal. Momota now leads Praneeth 4-2 Head to Head.
