Patna : World No 103 in ATP rankings Michael Mmoh, 20, USA, defeated World No 110 Prajnesh Gunneswaran, 29, India, in the round of 32 in Tata Open Maharashtra, an ATP 250 point event, on December 31, 2018, evening, at Pune. Mmoh beat Prajnesh in straight sets 7-5, 6-3 to enter Round of 16.

Mmoh fired 5 Aces in the match to 2 by Prajnesh, India’s top ranked tennis player. Mmoh won 4 break points to just 1 by Prajnesh, who also committed 2 double faults. Both the players won 3 games each in a row in the match.

World No 81 Jaume Munar, 21, Spain, also entered the Round of 16 defeating World No 98 Radu Albot, 29, Moldovia, in straight sets 6-2, 7-6 in the first round. Munar fired 4 Aces in the match to just 1 by Albot, who committed 4 double faults. Munar committed 1 double fault. Munar won 3 break points to just 1 by Albot.

World No 95 Ernests Gulbis, 30, Latvia, defeated World No 104 Pedro Sousa, 30, Portugal, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 to enter the Round of 16. World No 97 Evgeny Donskoy, Russia, beat World No 82 Pablo Andujar, Spain, 6-3, 5-7, 7-6 to enter Round of 16. Donskoy fired 7 Aces in the match to just 1 by Andujar.
