MMMM hostel inmates lock gate of VKSU VC office

Ara: Inmates of Mahanth Mahadevanand Mahila Mahavidyalaya (MMMM) hostel locked the gate of the office of  Vice-Chancellor, Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU), Ara, and staged demonstration in front of it on Saturday in protest against non- availability of basic amenities at the hostel. The agitating students alleged that the VC and the hostel superintendent also raised fingers on their character.

Anu Kumari and Baby Singh, inmates of the MMMM hostel along with other students, took out a procession from the MMMM that passed through the main thoroughfares of Ara town and reached the VKSU where they locked the gate of the VC office and paralyzed its working. They said when they complained about the poor quality of food and non -availability of basic amenities at the hostel, the VC closed the mess and raised finger on their character. They also blamed that the hostel superintendent, Anjali Gupta, always threatened to defame the students if they dared say anything against the hostel or college administration.

It may be mentioned here that a NAAC team will visit the MMMM on August 29, 2016, for inspection for granting accreditation and the students of the college are protesting lack basic amenities. If this situation prevails and the students complain the NAAC team, getting accreditation may not be easy for the college.
