Ara : Hundreds of students went on rampage and staged demonstration at the gate of Mahanth Mahadevanand Mahila Mahavidyalay (MMMM), Ara, a constituent unit of the Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU), on October 1, 2018, in protest against the non-issuance of their admit cards for the BA/B.Sc/ BCom Part III examinations. They blocked the road and paralysed movement of vehicle raising slogans against the college administration.

The students said that their BA/B.Sc/ BCom Part III examination is scheduled to commence from October 4, 2018, but the college administration has not given them their admit cards so far. They said if the college administration did not issue their admit cards, they would be forced to resort to more aggressive agitation against the college administration. They said that the VKSU administration, in view of the ongoing indefinite strike by the non-teaching employees of the university and the colleges, has directed the college administration to ensure distribution of admit cards at any cost on time but the college administration is reluctant to abide by the direction and has not issued the admit cards so far.

Vice-Chancellor, VKSU, Ara, Nand Kishor Sah said that the VKSU has sent admit cards of all the students to their respective colleges with a direction to issue the same at the earliest. He said that the Raj Bhavan is monitoring the examination process and added that the VKSU administration is determined to hold the examinations from October 4, 2018.

Chitranjan Singh, District President, VKSU Non-teaching employees Association, said that they would hamper the examinations if their demands are conceded before that.
