MMC not removing encroachment from Munger town

Munger: Encroachment on massive scale in Munger own has become a permanent source of inconvenience for the pedestrians but Munger Municipal Corporation (MMC) was avoiding taking measures to remove them. Makeshift stalls on both sides of the foothpath as well as  some portions of main streets have been encroached by petty shopkeepers, fruit and green vegetable vendors. The district administration and police  have been restrained by an order of the high court that they would co-operate in the removal of encroachment drive only when the municipal corporation would seek assistance from the administration.  Political reasons prevent the civic body from taking steps for the removal of encroachments, said social activists including Sanjay Keshri and Naresh Prasad Gupta.
