Ara : Bhojpur police recovered body of driver of a Pick-Up van Tejan Ram, 24, son of Shivratan Ram, near the outskirts of Gauraha-Machaha under Shahpur police station and seized the Pick-Up van near Power grid at village Karisath under Gajrajganj Police Outpost on April 6, 2019, morning.

Police brought the body over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. The deceased was a resident of Lalan Ji Ka Dera under Brahmpur police station in Buxar district. The owner of the van has been identified as Ramesh Yadav of village Balua under Brahmpur police station in Buxar district.

SHO, Shahpur police station, said that some miscreants posing as businessmen hired the Pick-Up van at Rs 600 to take them to village Suhia from Brahmpur roundabout at about 7 pm on April 5, 2019. The driver informed the owner of the van and proceeded towards village Suhia. On way, the miscreants stabbed the driver to death and escaped with the van.

Ramesh Yadav said that as he got information about hijacking of the van, he tried to contact the driver but his mobile was switched off. Then he tracked the van with the help of GPS and locked the GPS from his mobile and the van stopped near Karisath. He reached Karisath and informed the local police. Police immediately rushed to the spot and seized the pick-up van but the number plate and other spots were painted. The miscreants had taken with them stepney and other parts of the van. He said that the van was recovered but the life of the driver could not be saved.
