Ara : Some armed miscreants attacked and injured a BJP leader Rajesh Rai near village Karbasin under Sahar police station in Bhojpur district around 9pm on July 1, 2019, and escaped. The injured was admitted to a private clinic.
An FIR has been lodged with Sahar police station against Tuntun allias Mrityunjay Singh, Uday Kumar, Dhirendra Kumar, and his brother but no arrest has so far been made in this connection so far police are conducting raids to arrest the miscreants. Dhirendra Kumar was arrested along with five others for looting of motorcycles from Koelwar and was released on bail after three months in jail.
SHO, Sahar police station, said that four armed miscreants intercepted a BJP leader and Sahar block media incharge Rajesh Rai on a bridge near village Karbasin when he was returning from Narayanpur village on his motorcycle and made a murderous attack on him with traditional weapons injuring him seriously. Rajesh Rai somehow reached a private clinic where he is under treatment.
When contacted, Rajesh Rai said that he had staged a day long dharana at Karbasin village for a handpump recently and the officials had given a positive assurance to him in this connection. The BDO and the CO, Sahar block, after spot inspection, fixed the place of boring of handpump. He said when the boring started, the named accused pressurised him to sink the handpump on their field and when rejected it, they had threatened him dire consequences.
