Sasaram : A case of rape and murder of a minor girl has been reported from village Gangoli under Dalmianagar Police Station (PS) in Rohtas District. in South Bihar. Police recovered the body of the girl from a box and brought it over to Sasaram Sadar Hospital for post-mortem on November 16, 2020.
An FIR has been lodged with the Dalmianagar PS in this connection and police arrested accused Balram Singh and sent him to jail. SHO, Dalmianagar PS, said that the girl was living with her grand-mother at village Gangoli. She was playing in the field on November 15, 2020, evening, when her next door neighbour lured her to his house on the pretext of showing her idols of Lord Ganesh and Goddess Laxmi and outraged her modesty. He also killed her and packed her body in a box with a view to erasing evidence.
When the girl could not be seen for some time, her family members searched for her and also informed police, who immediately swung into action and rushed to the spot. Under pressure of police, the house of Balram Singh was opened and searched. Police recovered half naked body of the girl packed in a box. Villagers caught Balram Singh and thrashed him.
