Minor girl kidnapped from house in Saharsa, police yet to arrest accused

Saharsa: In a sensational incident, a minor girl was kidnapped from her house in Gandhi Path colony under Sadar police station, Saharsa, on February 23, 2017, evening by nine persons of the same colony at gun point in the presence of her mother and brother, who were threatened with dire consequence if they dared inform police about it. The incident has triggered tension in the locality. All the accused are absconding.

When the girl was not released despite intervention by locals, the girl’s father Devshankar Chaudhary lodged an FIR with Sadar police station against four named and five unnamed persons alleging they had kidnapped his minor daughter for marriage purpose. The named accused are : Mohd Sikkander, Mohd Hussain, Mohd Shaqil and his wife. Chaudhary alleged that Mohd Sikkander had earlier too teased his when she was going to school.

Sadar police station SHO Bhai Bharat said police were conducting raids to nab the accused. The SHO said that police visited Sikkander’s house to rescue the girl but she was not found there. The SHO said raids were on to rescue the girl.
