Buxar : A case of gang rape of a minor girl at Bind Toli under Basudeva Police Outpost (OP) in Buxar district came to light after an FIR was lodged with Women’s Police Station, Buxar, in this connection. Later, police arrested two of the three named accused and sent them to jail.
The girl had gone to the field with her grand-mother at Bind Toli under Basudeva OP to attend call of the nature on November 1, 2020, when Sheru Kumar, Upendra Kumar, and Shatrughan Kumar waylaid her at pistol point and kidnaped her. The miscreants took the girl to a garden of the village where they gangraped her the whole night.
After outraging her modesty, Upendra Kumar and Shatrughan Kumar left the place but Sheru Kumar stayed with her. He once again raped her in the morning the next morning. Later, he with the help of his friends dropped her at some other place and escaped. The girl somehow informed her family members and narrated her ordeals. Her family members brought her home and reported the incident to the family members of the accused that infuriated them but they threatened them with dire consequences.
The survivor’s The family members informed the Basudeva Police Outpost but the police did not take any action. Instead, police called the girl to the police station from November 3 to November 10 but did not lodge an FIR. Frustrated family members went to the Buxar Women’s police station with the girl and apprised SHO Nitu Priya of the incident. Then a named FIR was lodged with against Sheru Kumar, Shatrughan Kuma,r and Upendra Kumar, on the statement of the girl.
SHO Nitu Priya said that the girl was brought over to Buxar Sadar Hospital for medical examination and senior officials were informed about the incident. She said that after institution of FIR, police arrested two named accused Upendra Kumar and Shatrughan Kumar from their village and sent them to jail after interrogation though the third named accused Sheru Kumar is still absconding. She said that the police are investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest Sheru Kumar.
