Patna : Mumbai Indians (MI) scored a massive 235/9 in 20 overs against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 55th match of IPL at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi, UAE, on October 8, 2021, night, with opener Ishan Kishan scoring 84 in 32 balls hitting 11 four and 4 sixes and Suryakumar Yadav scoring 82 in 40 balls with 13 fours and 3 sixes. MI had won the toss and opted to bat.
In fact, it turned out to be match between Ishan Kishan & Suryakumar Yadav, both of whom were dropped from the team a few games back due to poor form. SRH fast medium bowler Jason Holder took 4/52 in 4 overs.
MI started well with openers Rohit Sharma ( captain) and Ishan Kishan adding 80 runs for first wicket, Rohit fell to spinner Rashid Khan for 18. Hardik Pandya fell to Jason Holder for 10 hitting a six and it was 113/2. Ishan Kishan fell to fast bowler Umran Malik and it 124/3. Ishan reached his fifty in only 16 balls. MI were 131/3 after 10 overs. Kieron Pollard fell to spinner Abhishekh Sharma for 13 and it was 151/4. James Neesham also fell to Sharma for zero making it 151/5. Sharma took 2 wickets in 13th over.
But, Suryakumar Yadav blitzkrieg continued. He taking all the bowlers to cleaner. He fell to Holder on the 4th ball of last over. Suryakumar Yadav hit Umran Malik for 3 fours on successive balls in 19th over but was also hit on the helmet on the 5th ball. He hit Holder for a six and a four in 18th over. Earlier, he had hit Siddharth Kaul for 3 fours in 17th over. Also hit spinner Rashid Khan for six in 16th over.
Ishan Kishan hit Umran Malik for a four and six in 7th over. Earlier, he had hit Holder for a six and 2 fours in 4th over and hit Siddharth Kaul for 4 fours on successive balls in 2nd over..
