Patna : A disastrous start to the innings notwithstangings, Mumbai Indians (MI) still made 213/6 in 20 overs against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the 14th match of IPL at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, on April 17, 2018, riding an explosive batting display by Captain Rohit Sharma and opener Evin Lewis. Rohit scored 94 in 52 balls hitting 10 fours and 5 sixes while Lewis made 65 in 42 balls with 6 fours and 5 sixes.

Allrounder Hardik Pandya made 17 in 5 balls hitting 2 sixes and a four while his brother Krunal Pandya was run out for 15 in 12 balls with a six and a four. Kieron Pollard was out for 5. MI made 60 runs in the power play overs.

RCB won the toss but opted to bowl. Initially, the decision appeared correct as MI lost opener Surya Kumar Yadav and wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan on the first two balls of the innings bolwed by fast bowler Umesh Yadav. After the first two balls, the MI score was 0/2. Thereafter Captain Rohit Sharma and Lewis were involved in a 108 run partnership for the third wicket taking all the RCB bowlers to cleaners.

Wonder boy Washington Sundar leaked 32 runs his 2 overs while wrist spinner Yuzvendra Chahal gave away 32 runs in 3 overs. Both of them failed to take any wicket. Pacer Mohammad Siraj leaked 34 runs in his 4 overs. Although Corey Anrson gave 47 runs in his 4 overs but he also took the wickets of Rohit Sharma and Evin Lewis. Umesh Yadav took 2/36 while Chris Woakes took 1/31 in 3 overs.
