Patna : Mumbai Indians (MI) scored a competitive 181/4 in 20 overs against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 37th match of IPL 2018 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, on May 6 riding on a 39 ball 59 with 7 fours and 2 sixes by opener Suryakumar Yadav and 43 in 28 ball with 5 fours and 2 sixes by his partner Evin Lewis. It was Suryakumar’s 4th fifty in the IPL this year.

Allrounder Hardik Pandya scored an unbeaten 35 in 20 balls with 4 fours and a six while captain Rohit Sharma was out for 11 only. Krunal Pandya made 14 in 11 balls with a four and a six while Jean-Paul Duminy remained unbeaten on 11 balls hitting a six.

MI lost their first wicket that of Lewis when the score was 91 after 9.2 over and were looking set for a 200 plus score but lost the plot when captain Rohit Sharma fell to spinner Sunil Narine for 11 with the scorereading 106. The MI run rate dropped considerably after that though the Pandya brothers tried to accelerate it but then Krunal Pandya fell to Narine when the score was 151 after 16.5 overs.

KKR captain Dinesh Karthik used his bowlers very well the second half of the MI innings. Sunil Narine took 2/35 in 4 overs while ndre Russel took 2/12 in 2 overs. The KKR bowlers bowled 5 wides though.

KKR were 2/0 after 1 over.
