Patna : Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) were restricted to 164/6 in 20 overs by four-time champion Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 48th match of IPL 2020 at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi, UAE, on October 28, 2020, opener Devudutta Padikkal’s 74 in 45 balls with 12 fours and 1 six notwithstanding. For MI, fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah took 3/14 in 4 overs. Bumrah took 100 wickets in IPL in this match by taking the wicket of RCB captain Virat Kohli. MI won the toss but opted to bowl.
Batting first, RCB openers Josh Philippe (wk) and Devdutt Padikkal, 20, added 71 runs for the 1st wicket. At the same score, Padikkal, who waged a lone battle in the middle, also fell to Bumrah for 74 and it was 134/5. Chris Morris fell to fast bowler Trent Boult for 4 and it was 138/6. Gurkeerat Singh Mann remained on 14 hitting 2 fours while Washington Sundar remained 10 not out with 1 four. Padikkal has scored over 400 runs in his debut IPL season.
