Patna : Mexico defeated South Korea 2-1 in a Group F match of FIFA World Cup on June 23, 2018, at Rostov Arena, Russia. Midfielder Carlos Vella scored the first goal for Mexico in the 26th minute through penalty while striker Javier Hernandez scored the second goal in the 66th minute.
Striker Son Heung-min scored the loan goal for South Korea, who had reached the semi-finals of World Cup in 2002. Son Heung-min scored the goal in 93rd minute.
Mexico are making their 16th apperance in the World Cup while South Korea are making their 10th appearance in the tournament.
