Saharsa : Death of a 16 year old boy Mohammad Wasim Alam on June 4, 2017, evening at Aamna Memorial Hospital located on Bangaon Road under Sadar Police station, Saharsa, allegedly due to negligence of the doctor concerned has shocked the people. He had performed very well at the CBSE class X exam 2017 the results of which were declared on June 3. His kin and relatives staged a massive protest at the private hospital after his death there and kept pelting the hospital with stones till 8 pm on June 4.

Wasim, son of Mohd Ansar Alam of Saharsa Basti, had fallen from the roof of his house four days back in which one of his hands was fractured. He was admitted to Aaamna Memorial Hospital on June 4 morning for operation, his family members said adding his was given anaesthesia before the operation. The hospital chief Dr Abul Kalam reached the hospital at 4 pm for the operation.  But, soon he came out of the operation theatre and declared Wasim dead, they alleged. Wasim’s maternal uncle Rabban Ansari alleged that his nephew died due to overdose of anaesthesia administered by the compounder. Wasim died one day after clearing CBSE class X exam getting 90 percent marks.
