Patna : Top seed Daniil Medvedev, 23, Russia, World No 15 Borna Coric, 22, Croatia, World No 64 Joao Sousa, 30, Portugal, and World No 119 Egor Gerasimov, 26, Belarus, reached the semi-finals of St Petersburg Open, an ATP 250 points tournament, at St Petersbug, Russia, on September 20, 2019.

Coric, the 4th seed, will face Sousa in the first semi-finals on September 21, 2019, while World No 4 Medvedev will clash with Gerasimov in the second semi-finals the same day.

Medvedev beat World No 38 Andrey Rublev, 21, Russia, the 5th seed, 6-4, 7-5 in 1hr 41 minutes in the QFs on September 20. Medvedev fired 12 Aces in the match to 3 by Rublev. Medvedev, who had reached the US Open final recently, won 5 break points in the match to 3 by Rublev. Sousa beat 6th seed Mikhail Kukushkin, 30, Kazakhstan, the World No 57, 7-6, 6-2 in the QFs. Sousa fired 10 Aces in the match to 4 by Kukushkin. Sousa also won 2 break points.

Coric beat 8th seed & World No 60 Casper Ruud, 20, Norway, 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 in QFs. Coric won 3 break points to 2 by Ruud. Coric fired 7 Aces in the match to 6 by Ruud.

Gerasimov, a qualifier,  stunned World No 13 & 3rd seed Matteo Berrettini, 23, Italy, 7-6, 7-6 in 1 hr 55 minutes in QFs. Berrettini fired 8 Aces in the match to 6 by Gerasimov. Gerasimov won 64 service points in the match to 57 by Berrettini.
