Patna : Top seed and World No 4 Daniil Medvedev, 23, Russia, reached the final of fifth tournament in 2019 on September 21, 2019, beating World No 119 Egor Gerasimov, 26, Belarus,  qualifier, in the semi-finals of St Petersburg Open, an ATP World Tour 250 points event, at St Petersburg, Russia.

Medvedev beat Gerasimov in straight sets 7-5, 7-5 in 90 minutes reach the final of the tournament. Medvedev, a US Open finalist recently, won 3 break points in the match to 1 by Gerasimov. The Russian won 52 service points in the match to 45 by Gerasimov.

Medvedev will face World No 15 Borna Coric, 22, Croatia, the 4th seed, in the final on September 22, 2019. Coric entered the final beating World No 64 Joao Sousa, 30, Portugal, in three-sets 3-6, 7-6, 6-1 in 2 hr 16 minutes in the SFs. None of the two players could serve any Ace in the match. But, Coric won 3 break points to 1 by Sousa. He also won 4 games in a row in the match to 3 by Sousa.
