Chhapra (Saran) : Dr Vivek Pandey, 38, owner of a medicine company of Kolkata, died while his wife and two sons were injured when
his car fell into a canal near Manjhpur under Taraiya police station (PS) in Saran district in the wee hours on August 26, 2021.
According to police sources, Dr Vivek Pandey was a native of Masharakh in Saran district. He was en route Masharakh from Kolkata by
car with family members. It is said his car slipped from a bridge over a canal on Chhapra-Masharakh State Highway 73, which has no
railing, and fell into the canal full of water. The other occupants of car were rescued from canal by the locals but Dr Vivek Pandey
died on the spot due to suffocation as he was tied with seat belt. Dr Vivek Pandey was the youngest son of noted physician Dr
Sitaram Pandey of Masharakh.
Rajesh Kumar, SHO, of Masharakh PS, said that Mamta Pandey and Satwik and Samridh, wife and sons of the deceased were injured and admitted to a Masharakh hospital .
