Motihari : The rape of a minor girl of village Jamui under East Champaran district, which was denied by SP Jitendra Rana and Civil Surgeon Dr Prashant Kumar on the basis of medical report of board of doctors of Motihari sadar hospital on June 22, took a new twist on Saturday when Dr Manoj Kumar, deputy superintendent of sadar hospital, in
his oral and written statement to the visiting Member of National Commission for Women (NCW) Sushama Sahu, confirmed the girl was raped. This statement of Dr Manoj has left red face the present administrative officials and civil surgeon.
Sushma Sahu reached the hospital to inquire into this brutal rape case and she spoke to the survivor and her mother in a ward of hospital. It is surprising that Dr Manoj Kumar was one of the members of the medical board with Dr Priti Gupta and Dr Saurabh and had signed on the medical report which said there is no sign of rape on the private part of the girl. Dr Manoj said Dr Priti Gupta alone examined the girl in a room and they supported her oral version. He said the girl has injuries and swelling in her private parts.
NCW member Sahu said the police superintendent has tried to cover up this case and accordingly medical report was prepared. The second medical examination of the girl would be done in Delhi. It may be noted that the girl was raped twice and third time gun barrel and stick were inserted inside her private parts forcibly by the accused at village Jamui June 15. She was hospitalized on June 18 and her medical examination was performed on June 22. Union ministers Radha Mohan Singh and Upendra Kushawaha also visited the hospital on Satuyrday and said the administration was trying to hush up this case at the behest of the government .
