New Delhi : Medal Winners of World Youth Archery Championship called on Minister of State (I/C) for Youth Affairs and Sports Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore here on October 12, 2017. The Indian Team won 1 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medal in team events at the Championship held at Rosario, Argentina, from October 2 to 8, 2017.
Congratulating the winners, Col. Rathore inquired from the team members and their coaches about the overall performance of India in the championships and training given to players. He suggested that the players should adopt such events in Archery which will have better prospects at the international competitions especially in Olympics, according to a PIB release.
Indian Team comprising Ankita Bhakat and N Jemson Singh won gold medal in Junior Recurve Mixed Team event, Silver Medal in Junior Men Recurve Team was won by the team comprising N Jemson Singh, Atul Verma and Sukhmani Gajanan Babrekar and Bronze medal was won by Cadet Compound Girls Team comprising Khushboo Dhyala, Sanchita Tiwary and Divya Dhayal. India stood 7th in the overall medal tally at the Championship.
