Saharsa : A marriage could not be solemnised at a village Sattarkataiya under Bihra police station in Saharsa district on April 28, 2017, night, the `Jaimal ‘ function notwithstanding as the groom’s side was not happy with the quality of food served to them which led to a fierce fight between the two sides.

Pachgahhia Navtol resident Rajendra Sahrma’s son Rahul Kumar’s marriage was fixed with Sattarkataiya resident Surendra Sahrma’sdaughter Kajal Kumari on April 28. Everything was alright till the dinner started after `Jaimal. The members of Baarat party did not like the quality of food served to them and refused to take the dinner which angered the bride’s side and some of them thrashed a few members of the Baarat party after which the two sides fought a pitched battle. The number of Baaratis was around 70.

Two members of the Baarat party : Anil Kumar Sharma and Sunil Sharma, were seriously injured in the incident and were admitted to Saharsa Sadar hospital on April 29. Some other members of the Baarat party were also injured in the incident.

Obviously, the groom’s side returned to their place Pachgachhia Navtol under Bihra police station without the marriage being solemnised.
