Dhanbad ( Jharkhand) : Gopal Rai, 31, last late night throttled his three year old daughter ‘Chandani’ to death when she was sleeping on her bed late May 1, 2017, night, after an altercation with his wife Babli Devi and escaped leaving the body and wailing wife who kept crying for help to save her daughter. This shocking incident took place at village Nayadih in Shyampur panchayat in Nirsa, about 31 km away from Dhanbad city.
The matter came to lime light on May 2 early morning when Babli , 27, reported the matter to Nirsa police station narrating as how her daughter was throttled to death in front of her eyes and despite her best efforts she could not save her. The incident took place at Nayadih, ‘Sasural’ ( in-laws’ place) of Gopal Rai where his wife landed only five days back from her husband’s place, who stays at Maniyadih (Tundi). Dhanbad rural SP P Janardhan said that the body had been sent for post- mortem while search to nab Gopal was on.
