Saharsa : Dilkhus Yadav, 25, of village Utesara under Salkhua police station in Saharsa district, who was shot at on February 25 evening during a quarrel between his mother Anita Devi and neighbour Radha Devi, succumbed to his gunshot injuries at  Saharsa Sadar hospital the same night. Radha Devi’s husband Phultan Yadav had fired at Dilkhus, who had intervened during quarrel between the two women.

Police have lodged a named FIR against six persons on the statement of Dilkhus’ father Krishna Yadav given at Saharsa Sadar Hospital. All the six accused are at large. SHO, Salkhua police station, Tarun Kumar, on February 26, 2017, said that police were conducting raids to arrest the accused.  Phultan Yadav,  Radha Devi, Uday Chandra Yadav, Srichandra Yadav, Sinku Yadav and Rakesh Yadav are the six named accused in the FIR.

Krishna Yadav told police that during her quarrel with Radha Devi, his wife Anita Devi had called her son Dilkhus to intervene. Suddenly, Krishna alleged, Radha Devi’s husband Phultan Yadav came out of his house with a gun and fired at Dilkhus, who sustained bullet injury below his waist. Dilkhus was initially rushed to Primary  health centre (PHC),  Salkhua, where the doctor referred him to Saharsa Sadar hospital. But, Dilkhus succumbed to his injuries late February 25 night. Dilkhus’s maternal uncle, a constable at Mahishi police station, Saharsa, Suresh Yadav, said that the accused had criminal proclivity.
