Man sets afire wife and two kids at Aurangabad village

Aurangabad: Dinesh Prasad, a native of Dihuri Bigha in Aurangabad district of Bihar, set afire his wife Manju Devi and two kids: Abhayanand (3) and daughter Jyoti- on Tuesday night.

If some of the villagers are to be believed, Dinesh used to bash up his wife and kids frequently. Even on Tuesday night, as per the villagers, Dinesh had a heated exchange with his wife. Incensed over it, Dinesh poured kerosene oil on his wife and two kids and set them afire. Hearing the screams of the kids, the villagers reached there and tried to douse the flames but in vain as the trio had sustained 90 % burn injuries by then. Dinesh escaped from there.

The villagers rushed the trio to Anugrah Narain Magadh Medical College Hospital (ANMMCH), Gaya, where Manju and her son succumbed to their burn injuries during treatment. The condition of the daughter was critical though the attending doctors were making all efforts to save her.

Local police reached Dinesh’s house and collected evidences from there. A police officer said that prima facie, it seems that the incident is fall out of heated exchange between the husband and wife. The statements of the victims had been recorded at Man sets the hospital by Gaya police, he added.
