Saharsa : A Gangjala, Saharsa, resident Bhavesh Mishra was on January 22 sent to for posing as a Head Clerk of FCI and defrauding a grain dealer Mohammad Safaruddin of Rs 45,000 for helping him get foodgrains at cheap rate from FCI.

Safruddin met Bhavesh on January 17, 2017, who posed as an FCI official and promised to help him get foodgrains at cheap rate. Bhavesh, however, told Safruddin that for this he would have to seek order from the DM, Saharsa. On January 18, Bhavesh took Safruddin to DM’s residential office where he asked him to wait and himself went inside the office.

After sometime, Bhavesh returned and asked him to come with Rs 45,000 next day for 40 quintal wheat and 20 quintal rice. Safruddin took the amount from his brother -in-law Mohammad Sultan and gave it to Bhavesh the next day. Bhavesh took him to FCI godown and asked him to wait for him and himself entered the godown saying he would take the receipt and get wheat and rice loaded on a vehicle.

Later, Bhavesh told Safruddin that the vehicle carrying grains had left for Baidyanathpur, Saharsa, and asked him to reach there to collect the same. When he reached Baidyanathpur he was told that vehicle carrying grains had reached Sonbersa Raj instead. When Safruddin failed to get the grains even at Sonbersa Raj, he tried to contact Bhavesh but he refused to even recognise him. Safruddin caught hold of Bhavesh at Gangjala on January 21  and handed him over to police.
