Man killed in accident at Bhojpur Village

Ara : One person was killed when a speeding car ran over him near Amrai Nawada village under Bihia police station in Bhojpur District on February 24, 2020, afternoon. Irate villagers blocked Ara-Buxar main road near Amrai Nawada with the body of the deceased paralysing movement of vehicles on the road. They demanded arrest of the driver of the car and compensation to the next of kin of the deceased.

The blockade was lifted after positive assurance from police officials. Later, police brought the body over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. The deceased was identified as Balbir Yadav of Amrai Nawada under Bihia police station. SHO, Bihia police station, said that Balbir Yadav was crossing the road when a speeding car knocked him down. Balbir succumbed to his injuries on the spot.
